Conditional admission to a master’s degree programme

If you have obtained your Bachelor's degree at a university of applied sciences or abroad, your specialist knowledge will be tested before you begin your Master's degree. It will be compared whether you have the knowledge and skills that are taught in the Bachelor's programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Leibniz Universität. The aim is to ensure that all Master students are at the same level of knowledge.

If this is not the case, you will only be admitted to the programme under certain conditions. This means that you will be required to attend certain courses from the Bachelor's programs within the first two semesters and to pass the corresponding exams. Between 1 and 4 different conditions can be imposed. If you do not successfully complete the requirements, you will not be able to obtain the Master's degree. You will not receive credit points for examinations in subjects subject to circulation. The grades are not shown on your diploma. As soon as you have passed one of the circulation examinations, you can pick up a certificate from the respective teacher. You must present this to the Admissions Office.

stay up to date

Most of the additional lecture series and examinations are offered either in the summer semester or in the winter semester, but not in both semesters. If you do not take these examinations in the first or second semester of your master’s degree, you will not be able to complete them by the required date.

Please check the course catalogue in good time.

Entrance test M.Sc. Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

There is a special feature for the Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (M.Sc.) programme: an entrance test is offered before the beginning of each semester. This is aimed at all prospective students who have not completed their Bachelor's degree at Leibniz Universität Hannover (e.g. at a university of applied sciences or at a university abroad). This test checks whether you have the knowledge and skills that are taught in the bachelor’s degree programme (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) in Hannover. If you pass this test, you do not have to expect any conditions. For this reason the participation in the entrance test is highly recommended.
